The home alone house is for sale! Ahhhhh. If I were in the market for a house, in Winnetka, IL., this would be a total selling point for me. Home Alone has got to be one of the all time best Christmas movies, minus the parts with the tarantula – not my thing! It’s only 2.4 mil, who’s buying and inviting me over?
I had three major things on my to-do list and I got about 10% of one of the things done…total. I’m not sure what happened, where the time went or if I even have a solid excuse but I was just not on my game. Luckily it’s just one more week until Christmas vacation and I couldn’t be any happier to have some time to relax at home, see family and friends and just enjoy the holiday season!
I have three things to do this weekend to get me even further into the Christmas spirit.
1. Go shopping for presents — I have yet to buy a single present and Christmas is just around the corner (not to mention Hanukkah which starts on Tuesday)
2. Watch The Nightmare Before Christmas — Who doesn’t love this movie and the music?
3. Make Christmas cookies — Or at least cookies of some sort. I’m thinking of trying to just a simple chocolate chip recipe and adding pieces of candy cane?!
I realized last night that the holidays are right around the corner and not only do I need to start thinking about what I want to buy people but how I want to wrap their gifts — it’s one of my favorite parts of the holiday. I love the newspaper idea and have even done it before but the personalized tags really spices the gift up and I like the idea of trading out my normal twine for something a little more festive, like this red and white baker’s ribbon.
Santacon was this past Saturday and I had a blast. I convinced my best friend (that’s her on the right) to get all decked out as a nutcracker with me and our costumes here a huge success! Skip the tree and Rock Center next year and just drink the day away with more santas, reindeer, elves and gifts than you can imagine!
I woke up this morning hoping that today would feel like a new day, complete with that fresh start feel. I know I should wait until 12/31 to hope for change but I think I’m ready for it this morning. Cheers (with coffee mugs) to a good Monday.
Tomorrow is Santacon and I finished all the last little details yesterday on my amazing nutcracker costume — it’s too cute for words. Other than the fact that it’s going to be about 40 degrees tomorrow, I am really excited. Have a jolly weekend!
This is such an awesome idea for a bright and sparkly manicure for the holiday season — glitter nail polish sandwiched between a solid polish. I am definitely trying this for New Years Eve!
