Prep and pack

jill gg’s good life (for less)

I have my quick San Francisco trip coming up in about 2 weeks and I am starting to get really excited. The next order of business, since I have my tickets and I’m staying with a friend, is what to pack. Thankfully I found Jill GG’s good life (for less) and there are some great ideas on the ‘Cali Quickie’ and ‘California’ lists, which I think I will mix and match to be prepared for the less than predictable SF weather but hopefully a nice spring weekend!

Bahamas bound

via best tropical islands

This week has been busy and snowy and that makes it all the more exciting to be going away VERY early tomorrow morning for a long weekend in the Bahamas. Tonight is the official packing party where I plan to over pack, as usual, and do a little apartment fashion show to ensure all my ‘looks’ are right! I am so excited for some sun!

Weekend getaway

Getting out of the city tomorrow for a nice fall weekend with friends.
I can’t wait for the “big ass fan”!

Fancying a fortnighter

via chancery court hotel

I need to get out of this city, for more than a day, in a really bad way. And obviously I always start my vacation search (read: vacation daydreaming) at my favorite hotel, Chancery Court Hotel in London. Everything about the hotel is perfect, everyone who works there is so friendly and it’s in London so what more could you ask for?! Fingers crossed I can pull this trip off in the not too distant future!

Vacation envy

via bulgari hotels

My parents are away for the next few weeks in Europe, 20% of my office has left for the week to go some place and I am stuck here…I love New York on holiday weeks in the summer because it’s empty but it would I am seriously wishing I had a vacation to go on or at least look forward to. And I am seriously crushing on this Bulgari Resort in Bali! It’s absolutely beautiful and comes in at a whopping $950 a night. Maybe next year?!

Tarmac style

In addition to not being the best packer, I always have a really difficult time deciding what to wear on the plane. I like to be comfortable, but I’ve long since outgrown wearing sweats on the airplane. Thanks to Refinery29, my go-to for just about everything, has given me a great idea and I can definitely pull together an outfit like –  suitable for the warm New York and Vegas weather.

Send me here

Please…

I don’t care what the weather is like in Sweden right now, and I don’t even care that I have been dying to go to Sweden for years. Send me to this house and I promise I won’t leave for the entire vacation.

How gorgeous are those views and how comfy does that couch pit look?!

Napa style

via we heart it

Just relaxing in Napa this week — be jealous. The weather has been perfect, we’ve had some amazing meals and obviously the wine is flowing! Be back next week.

Park it

The long weekend is within spitting distance now and even though I chose to stay here I am kind of wishing someone would knock on my door with a trip to my dream hotel, the Parker Palm Springs. It’s obvious by now that I love the work of Jonathan Adler (displayed here and here), but more importantly at this point in time I love the idea of sun, consistent sun that is, heat and a big beautiful pool. If I end up disappearing you know where I am!

Wide open spaces

I woke up wishing I could walk from my bedroom into an airy living room/kitchen where I could make myself a cup of coffee and wander onto a sunlit porch where I could spend the day doing absolutely nothing. It’s partly because I am itching for spring to come, and stay for good, but mostly because I love being outdoors, enjoying the sun and breathing fresh, warm air. Fingers crossed that a change in weather is right around the corner — if not it might be a weekend getaway to some fabulous house on beach!
