I am seriously having one of those days. The ones when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, feeling sick and then manage to fall out of bed (literally) nearly break something and proceed to get ready, walk to work and then spill 1/3 of a bottle of water on yourself….Yeah, one of those mornings! Other than the feeling sick, which is bumming me out because my birthday is on Sunday and I would hate to be sick all weekend, all things considered, I feel like I am keeping my head up, laughing it off and just counting down until I can get into bed and end the day!

After more than a week away from work, today is the first day back and just like it was in elementary school after a long vacation, everyone is less than enthused to be back. It will take a few days to get adjusted and stop lusting over the thought of crawling back into bed under the covers. Welcome back!

After Santacon, the best way for me, and my family, to get in the Christmas spirit is to enjoy some serious Muppet holiday wonderment. Clearly we’re not the only ones because NYMag’s Vulture did a whole article about the Ten Best Muppet Christmas Moments! Emmet Otter is my favorite Christmas movie, so this takes the #1 spot for me!

Only downside is my brother’s favorite moment wasn’t on the list, so here’s a piece of that as well!

Bert: Oh, did you know that Doc starts with the letter D?
Doc: Why, yes.

Because I am always one to think about an event with costumes, when I saw this amazing fascinator I immediately thought about the derby party that’s right around the corner…in May! Regardless of that fact, or the fact that this hat is over $600, it made me smile and is the official beginning of my hat search!

It’s a proud day for this baby sister as my big bro continues to take over the world with his killer start-up, Percolate. Congrats to him, his partner James, and the rest of their team on their new funding and for kicking ass and taking names!

I have a lot going on today but I am excited to go home today and watch the election footage unfold. Right now they are predicting an incredibly close win for Obama in the popular vote and a wider win for the electoral vote. Here’s RealClearPolitics breakdown of the electoral vote -303 Obama and 235 Romney.

I got back last night from my weekend in Saugerties and had a really great time. It was a bunch of friends eating great food, drinking great wine, playing with some adorable pups and just lounging around. The best part for me though was at the end of the trip when we went apple and pumpkin picking. It really felt like fall and got me really excited for winter!
