I love voluminous shorts for the summer. They toe the line between skirt and short and they are usually more comfortable than tight, denim shorts.
But now I am officially straddling the line…..
I purchased my first skort since the age of 5 and I really love it. Not only are the shorts loose and airy, but the skirt overlay dressed up the whole look and makes sitting out in the park on a blanket a little more ladylike!

Everyone has been talking about workout clothes lately and trying to find ways to avoid looking like slob while sweating to the oldies at the gym. Refinery29 did a whole article on cute gym clothes and accessories — I love the water bobbles and the Y-3 running shoes. And everyone’s favorite stylist Rachel Zoe mentioned her love for the O.O.C (out of control) bright colors of Nike’s Pro Collection.

While I try to look decent at the gym, trading in t-shirts for these great tops from Lululemon, the only thing I really care about are the shoes and the head gear. My sneakers of choice are these Nike LunarGlide+.they are amazing light and seriously comfortable. And now that I have short hair I can’t leave home without a slipless headband. Instead the headband is a silicon grip and it seems to be the only headband in the world that doesn’t slide right off my head!

I love these prints from Rifle Paper Co. I think I might order these and few other fun prints to decorate my newly painted and refurnished bedroom.

It’s official! My lovely Jonathan Adler keys wallpaper is on the wall and it looks fantastic. I bought a roll awhile back for my kitchen and finally got around to hanging this weekend!

I did something totally awful to my back. I think I tweaked it somehow when I was laying on the floor during my breathwork circles this weekend and now it is killing me. So instead of having to wear the bulky, black, hideous back brace the orthopedist gave to me I googled “designer back braces” and here’s what I found! Designboom’s article on ‘pro aesthetics supports’ by Francesca Lanzavecchia. Fashion and function all in one! What more could a crippled girl ask for?!

I’m going to CT tonight for my 8:30am jury duty call tomorrow morning (even though I no longer live there). It’s my first time and I am NOT looking forward to it! Wish me luck…..

You know you do it….You write little notes to remind yourself of brilliant thoughts, great outfits, places to go and people to see. Well Jackie Johnson one-ups all of us with her blog Some Notes on Napkins.
I am more than a little biased here because I have known Jackie for a few years, and beyond morbidly obsessed with her, but in all seriousness her blog kicks major ass and looks damn good while doing it.
Jackie’s site is a catchall of what to listen to, what to wear, how to wear it and where to buy it. She has been blogging for awhile and now she is the mastermind behind the social+creative LA space (No Subject).
Without a doubt Jackie’s blog and all her projects are ones that I follow closely. It’s without coincidence that when something new pops up on some cool and hip scene Jackie has been there, done that and already blogged about it. If you can believe it she is an even more amazing person than she is blogger. Now if only I could convince her to mentor me in the ways of being uber chic.
So the three posts from this week were written over the weekend and scheduled to publish, and tweet, automatically. (For those of you who haven’t used Twuffer it’s a great way of pre-writing and queuing tweets – definitely try it out!).

But there’s going to some radio silence for the next few days because I have been really sick and unfortunately in and out of the hospital and a number of different doctors offices.
I should be back from the brink of death by Monday and will have some great stuff to post about next week. In the meantime check out my blog roll there are some amazing blogs on there to keep you occupied!
I’m not 100% sure if I buy astrology, but I do like that when people who really believe in it explain to me that I can take whatever I want seriously and anything else with a grain of salt I am intrigued.
Susan Miller’s Astrology Zone has a whole write-up about these eclipses that have been happening in Capricorn and Cancer in the past 2 months and how they can be causing serious times of change and fluctuation. I know it’s the case for me, the past couple of months have been very busy, and exciting, stressful and sometimes overwhelming and maybe the universe is somewhat to “blame”.
Anyway, as I said, I don’t really know my thoughts on the whole truth behind astrology but this stuff is very intriguing!
