Spin cycle

OPENING-SOON-21
via aqua

Here I’m referencing both the washing machine cycle as well as my beloved cycling (spin). I have a new obsession and I am dying to go try it out and report back on how absolutely amazing, or horrendously horrible, it ends up being. Aqua is a spa-like cycling studio with a twist — the bikes are in a pool so classes have the added resistance of being in a 4ft deep pool. It sounds like a blast which will be easy on my back but still a butt kicking workout. If only it weren’t in Tribeca! I bought a Speedo this weekend so I’m ready to try my first class!

Sporty spice

I can’t seem to get enough spin in my life. I just recently started taking classes at my gym and it’s one of the most fun and challenging workouts I’ve found. I take either 1 hour or 45 minute classes a few times a week and absolutely love it. Most of the instructors have a whole slew of routines so nothing gets boring and classes range from challenging to super intense depending on both the speed of the ride and the resistance. There’s a pretty even number of people spinning in sneakers and in shoes but I decided to bite the bullet and bought myself a new pair of Shimano cycling shoes yesterday. They help a lot and they are only slight dorky looking! Can’t wait to try them out!
