Happy friday | Happy new year

via we heart it

It’s hard to believe that it’s about to be 2012…this year has absolutely flown by. It may not have been the easiest of years, and definitely wasn’t always pretty, but overall it was an amazing year and I am a very happy girl. Have a fantastic weekend and a happy and healthy new year.

New look for the loo

A few weeks ago I bought new white towels to continue my quest to brighten up my bathroom. I really like the fresh look of white towels and I love the fact that I can throw them in the wash with some bleach and they’re as good as new. No dingy towels here! And if that’s not great enough, I received my favorite CB2 bath mat for Hanukkah to complete the room. (Have I mentioned that I have it in 2 other colors already?!)

Ahh, simple pleasures!

Merry Christmas! Have a happy and healthy holiday weekend!

Woks and lox

One of the most exciting parts of Christmas is the Jewish tradition of Chinese food and movies. I’ve heard there are even Chinese food restaurants in Chinatown that take reservations for Jewish-Christmas dinner and have been totally booked for weeks. My plan is to order early, on seamless web of course, and just veg out at home. If I’m feeling really daring I’ll even go see a movie at the theater!….I’M A REBEL!!

Here’s some more information on the Jewish/Asian connection.

Home alone

The home alone house is for sale! Ahhhhh. If I were in the market for a house, in Winnetka, IL., this would be a total selling point for me. Home Alone has got to be one of the all time best Christmas movies, minus the parts with the tarantula – not my thing! It’s only 2.4 mil, who’s buying and inviting me over?

Happy hanukkah

It’s the first night of Hanukkah! All I need are a few more gifts, these white candles and latkas and I’ll be good to go! Happy Hanukkah!

Fail whale

I had three major things on my to-do list and I got about 10% of one of the things done…total. I’m not sure what happened, where the time went or if I even have a solid excuse but I was just not on my game. Luckily it’s just one more week until Christmas vacation and I couldn’t be any happier to have some time to relax at home, see family and friends and just enjoy the holiday season!

I have three things to do this weekend to get me even further into the Christmas spirit.

1. Go shopping for presents — I have yet to buy a single present and Christmas is just around the corner (not to mention Hanukkah which starts on Tuesday)

2. Watch The Nightmare Before Christmas — Who doesn’t love this movie and the music?

3. Make Christmas cookies — Or at least cookies of some sort. I’m thinking of trying to just a simple chocolate chip recipe and adding pieces of candy cane?!

Have a charming weekend.

Do they know it’s christmas time

I loved this from Tuesday’s Glee. Nicely done! I’m definitely getting into the Christmas spirit.

Giving gifts

via allora handmade

I realized last night that the holidays are right around the corner and not only do I need to start thinking about what I want to buy people but how I want to wrap their gifts — it’s one of my favorite parts of the holiday. I love the newspaper idea and have even done it before but the personalized tags really spices the gift up and I like the idea of trading out my normal twine for something a little more festive, like this red and white baker’s ribbon.
