Is this real life?

via vogue

Ummm, seriously?! I know I’m late on sharing my thoughts on Kate Moss’ wedding (I’ve had a lot of things to say since the big day) but seriously?! I still can’t totally comprehend the fact that this photo is from a real wedding and not just a photo shoot. The only tip off? Kate seems to be genuinely smiling!

Oh, and honestly who has Mario Testino photograph their nuptials?!

(Sorry for the excessive use of interrobangs)

I say ombre

via oh the lovely things

I like pretty much anything ombre (including these tights, this cake and these nails), there’s something about the gradient color that I think is both really chic and really edgy. But lately instead of looking for tops and tights I have been thinking about the ever present ombre hair and whether I could pull it off. I have dyed my hair only a few times in my life and my favorite has always been when I’ve gone jet black (although my mother hates it). Maybe this is a way to appease my need for a dye job and her desire to not have an Elvira lookalike as a daughter!

Make way for baby

I’m not a huge celebrity fanatic (nor am I a huge VMA fan) but I love Jay-Z and Beyonce as a couple ever since Bonnie and Clyde. And now they have a baby on the way it makes me love them even more! I’m so excited to see Beyonce kill it as the most gorgeous pregnant celeb ever, I mean look at the outfit she pulled off last night while dancing and singing her butt off. And I think everyone is waiting to see what kind of killer superstar those two produce!

Happy Friday

This hurricane sounds like it’s shaping up to be quite a doozy. I was hoping I’d be able to throw on my hunter boots and play in the rain to wash away this dumb week, but with the chance of 100mph winds that doesn’t really seem like an option. I guess I’m going to settle for enjoying the rain from indoors. Have a safe weekend.

Put a sock in it

via ahhhhh

I’m still in a funk and this gray, rainy, pre-hurricane (post-earthquake) weather isn’t helping. But what would help? What are the best defunkifying remedies? If I had to guess, other than pictures that make you smile, I’d have to say sock monkeys! I’ve never had one, and I’m pretty sure one of my good friends is scared of them, but they’re undeniably cute and look seriously cuddlely.

When can I move in?

More discoveries and inspiration for my favorite – coco+kelley. I have been introduced to a designer that I love: Wendy Schwartz. From absolutely beautiful rooms with delicate accents, minimal design and room to breathe to more opulent and glamorous spaces packed with books and trinkets that add character and life. While I am figuring out my own aesthetic, and I don’t think the crowded, cluttered look is right for me, I can appreciate the eye for detail in bringing items together and making them all shine. Shine on Wendy!

Pick me up

via bippity boppity boo

After a depressing Bears loss last night I woke up feeling very tired and kind of crappy. The solution? Finding a picture that I can’t help but smile at. Who could deny these adorable leggy babies?!

B-E-A-R Bears Bears Bears

via football fanatics

I’m going to the Bears/Giants preseason game today and I am so excited! I took my jersey out of my closet the other day, it’s been folded up for a very long time, and it got me hyped and ready. I love football season — the weather gets cooler, you always know your plans for Sunday and I get to surprise people with my football knowledge. Now, if I buy these temporary tattoos I could seriously freak people with my fanaticism! BEAR DOWN CHICAGO BEARS!

Happy Friday

I’d love to find some time this weekend to do some much needed cleaning of my closets. I have my favorite matching hangers ready to get things off some selves and tons of garbage bags so I can donate what I don’t want/need anymore. It’s the perfect rainy weekend activity. Have a cozy weekend.

Hermès DIY

Anyone with a pulse, and a love for leather studded with metal hardware (which is everyone, right?), has seen and drooled over the Hermès Collier De Chien cuff and then cried over the $1050 price tag.

Well fret no longer. Now simply download your favorite bracelet and take it home for free. On the Hermès corporate site click on the ‘surprises’ button on the left side menu. Then choose the cuff’s leather design, download, cut and assemble it (no promising that this will be an easy process) and you’re ready to rock your budget friendly cuff du jour!
