Clearly it’s the week of the youtube video for me, so in an effort to stick with the theme I’m sharing another favorite video. It’s the combination of elements that creates the amazing end result — JT, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, what could be better than that?!
It seems hair tutorials are all the rage right now and as obsessed I am with all of these braided variations (here, here and here) I am so handicapped in the hair department that looking at these photos still make it impossible for me to recreate the hairstyle. I wasn’t sure if it was just the medium so I checked out this fishtail braid how-to video by Free People…but lo and behold not only is my hair is too short but my hands too ill equipped for anything fancier than a ponytail (even this one)…major bummer.
I’m not sure how I’ve gone this long without sharing this amazing video (my brother emailed it to me in April 2009) but the time has come. As I am product of my mother, I have a love for all things Jim Henson and The Muppets (see here, here and here) and this Cookie Monster appearance on NPR is no exception. If you can watch it and not laugh out loud, you are probably dead — I’d be worried if I were you!
I’m proud to say I am a full fledged convert to the world of Chrome. Between the amazing search history and how easy it is to import bookmarks, firefox is long gone. And let’s be honest, I am a sucker for their commercials (check this one too)!
I spent a few nights this week spending time with friends and would love to have the trend continue this weekend. Hopefully the humidity dies down a bit and I can enjoy good company and good weather, but regardless it’s always an adventure catching up and having fun with friends. Have a terrific weekend!
I have been wearing Essie Neo Whimsical for a few weeks after finding it on a hunt for a light but opaque color. But like most people, I have nail polish ADD and can’t possibly go more than three weeks in a row with the exact same color. So while on the hunt for another acceptable light purple, I found OPI Do you Lilac it and am on my way to try it now — details later!
The Muppets are back?! While I love Jason Segel, and anything with Kermit and Gonzo is all right by me, I have some serious reservations about anything Muppets now that Jim Henson is out of the picture. Trepidations or not, I will definitely be seeing this and will report back with an in depth review.
I just learned about e.l.f. (eyes, lips, face) Makeup & Cosmetics and for someone who isn’t really into makeup, I’m extremely tempted to buy some things and start experimenting. Where else are you going to find cream eyeliner (and brush) for $3.00 and moisture rich lipstick for $1.00?
I’m so excited that it’s the weekend and while I plan to do some fun things in the city my apartment is also in dire need of being cleaned. Not only is there is laundry that needs to be put away but a serious vacuuming in order. Have an amazing weekend!
What could be better than classic prints with classic shoes? Robert Verde took some of his old Hermès scarves to Vans and asked them to customize a few pairs of sneakers. The result? An amazing set of classically covered slip-on sneakers that make a timeless statement. I can totally see these styled up with a casual suit, for a classic hipster look, or in my case I would wear them with some jeans or cut-offs and a white t!
