I got a major haircut back in June that took off approximately 8 inches of hair and left me with a bob just below my chin. I loved the cut but ever since I have been going through some serious withdrawal and missing my long hair. I want to be able to do something with my hair during the fall like a chignon, fishtail braid or simple beach waves….but I can’t. I also miss how easily messy long hair can look purposely done, while messy short hair just looks like you’ve been roughed up!

I am going on an apple/apple juice cleanse this coming weekend and hoping that it gives me some new found energy, I have been very sluggish in this winter/autumn transition. I think cleanses are a great way to reset your system, but I have been told that you need to prepare with a few days of raw food and take it really easy (stay in bed) during the actual fast. These cupcakes don’t count, right?!

In addition to some great high waisted pants (like these at Cupcakes & Cashmere) and a few knee/thigh high socks (like these at A Cup o Jo) I decided to top of my fall fashions with this great pair of Boutique 9 loafers. They’re black with a silver distressed sheen that dress up any outfit, plus they’re comfortable amd were on sale on gilt.com. Now if only the weather would drop down from 85 degrees I’d be able to wear them!

Keep in mind I’m still in fall travel gear — I’ve decided I need to go back to Paris, it’s been years since my last trip. The people, the food, the language, the clothes, the landmarks, everything a tribute to all the best the world can offer.

I’ve been vicariously living through Betty but maybe now is the time to go visit! Parts of me want to pack up, fly over and do whatever I have to do to make a living for myself so I can eat, drink, dress and live like the Parisians do. Ooh la la!

I was beginning to worry I was going to need to take a trip to Chicago to stock up on some more bears gear — in celebration of their 2-0 season starter — but now Victoria’s Secret is giving the cute orange and blue bear the sexy time loving it deserves! I think this is something that needs to be purchased right away, before any luck changes!

Fall is officially right around the corner and there’s something about the changing of temperature and the replacing of one season’s wardrobe for another than makes me anxious to get out of New York and out into the world to find new adventures.

About 4 years ago I decided to apply to study abroad and had 4 months to prepare myself for a semester in London, and what would end up being the beginning of a a whole new life. Ever since then the autumn ants-in-your-pants feeling really started!

Where to next?

I finally did it! I took a hint from Rumi of Fashion Toast (here and here) and busted out a pair of thigh high tights this weekend. I have never been more sure that I was going to be completely and totally obsessed with a look — regardless of the fact that when I first saw this trend popping up I thought I would never be able to pull it off!

Now it just going to be a matter of finding as many fun and different alternatives as possible!

I bought an amazing surplus jacket from h&m recently and this weekend’s chilly weather allowed me to finally wear it out. It’s really simple, black canvas, lots of pockets and very comfy and much to my surprise everyone I was with Sunday night was wearing one too! Even my favorite Emily S. rocked one over the weekend.

Is it overkill to have the same coat, or a similar one, in black and army green?
