Thank Caterpillar it’s Friday

Caterpillar: By the way, I have a few more helpful hints. One side will make you grow taller…
Alice: One side of what?
Caterpillar: …and the other side will make you grow shorter.
Alice: The other side of what?
Caterpillar: THE MUSHROOM, OF COURSE!

I don’t know where I first found this Alice in Wonderland photo shoot by Ramdaq, but I have been oowing and ahhing over it for a long time.

There is something about these images make the idea of free falling into another dimension seem beautiful (and a lot less overwhelming and hectic than it feels when things in life are a bit out of control)!

PS: Those eye lashes are out of this world!

I’m going to CT tonight for my 8:30am jury duty call tomorrow morning (even though I no longer live there). It’s my first time and I am NOT looking forward to it! Wish me luck…..

You know you do it….You write little notes to remind yourself of brilliant thoughts, great outfits, places to go and people to see. Well Jackie Johnson one-ups all of us with her blog Some Notes on Napkins.
I am more than a little biased here because I have known Jackie for a few years, and beyond morbidly obsessed with her, but in all seriousness her blog kicks major ass and looks damn good while doing it.
Jackie’s site is a catchall of what to listen to, what to wear, how to wear it and where to buy it. She has been blogging for awhile and now she is the mastermind behind the social+creative LA space (No Subject).
Without a doubt Jackie’s blog and all her projects are ones that I follow closely. It’s without coincidence that when something new pops up on some cool and hip scene Jackie has been there, done that and already blogged about it. If you can believe it she is an even more amazing person than she is blogger. Now if only I could convince her to mentor me in the ways of being uber chic.

My half birthday just passed on July 13th and in case you were still searching for some gifts here are a few things I have been eying to spruce up my apartment. If you haven’t already caught on my apartment is in perpetual “sprucing” up need!

I’ve always loved the classic look of a bowl of apples, pears or lemons on a table or sideboard. But what I really want is something more unique, obviously, and something that you wouldn’t find anywhere else.

I have been searching high and low for the perfect filling for a simple glass ice bucket and I think these boysenberries and raspberries are just the ticket. It will take a ton to fill the whole bucket, but I think the dark red and blue will look rich and delicious!
I wrote back in November, about pants being restrictive and uncomfortable. I feel like as a girl I have so many options (shorts, skirts, dress) that are better suited to me, especially in the weather that we have been having in New York.
That’s why I love onesies! Not only do I not want to wear pants, but I actually like wearing as few pieces of clothing as possible and a onesie cuts down that number and it makes me very happy!

My newest purchase is this amazing BCBG silk onesie in a soft navy blue. It’s light, comfortable, easy to get on and off (which is very important to consider when purchasing a onesie, some can be very tricky) and feels like I’m not wearing anything at all!!

If designing pieces for RVCA and being involved in the newest Forever21 campaign isn’t enough, Rumi Neely also has one of the most fantastic fashion blogs on the planet! While I know I will never be able to emanate her style (she is drop dead gorgeous and a size TINY) what I love is that she is unique and 110% herself (I say this never having met her, but I get a very strong feeling!)
The photos on her blog are taken by her and her boyfriend Colin, and while she always seems to be smoldering and bruiting, you know the two are having a blast on all their adventures to New York, Philly and Japan. Do you think in the midst of all her clothes and shoes that she has room in her suitcase to pack me so I can travel around the world with her?
Rumi’s eye for design is amazing and her jewelry choices have me itching with envy. She has personal style up the wazoo and yet when I read her blog I don’t feel totally out of my league — even though I am absolutely, unequivocally, totally and completely am! Without the world renowned blog, fame and unreasonably fantastic style Rumi is just a girl on a mission — to look fabulous and blog while doing it! Amen sister!
So the three posts from this week were written over the weekend and scheduled to publish, and tweet, automatically. (For those of you who haven’t used Twuffer it’s a great way of pre-writing and queuing tweets – definitely try it out!).

But there’s going to some radio silence for the next few days because I have been really sick and unfortunately in and out of the hospital and a number of different doctors offices.
I should be back from the brink of death by Monday and will have some great stuff to post about next week. In the meantime check out my blog roll there are some amazing blogs on there to keep you occupied!

I have gone on several shopping sprees at Madewell since the store opened downtown and this past week has been no different. They are having an insane sale right now which only makes spending money there easier, but overall I just love their stuff. Given the fact that I don’t wear jeans, their specialty, there are tons of things that I love and that will transition into fall beautifully.
Most recently I walked away with some slouchy jean shorts, jodhpurs, a great pair of khaki slacks and a blousy floral top — perfection in clothes form.
