I know Chinese New Year was earlier this week but I’m excited to cut loose and kick back with some serious dragon time! I’m off to Pig Heaven on the Upper East Side tonight to have a pork filled celebration. Have a fabulous weekend.
I’m not sure what it is about this anthropologie top that I love so much, but I love it! I can see it with so many different pants, shorts and even skirts that I have. In reality it’s a fairly simple shirt but the seaming in the front, the long drape on the side and the 3/4 sleeves make it so much more! Must have!
I know it’s only Wednesday, and saying “this whole week” probably sounds a bit dramatic but I am pooped — it’s been crazy around here!! I keep looking outside hoping for snow thinking, maybe they will cancel work today…if only it worked that way. The only thing getting me through the past two days is knowing that when I get home I am immediately retiring to bed (I can be very productive in bed)! How nice would it be though to know you were coming home to this!? Nothing too fancy, just comfy, cozy and totally your own!
I’ve been feeling that wintertime blues as of late but what’s worse is we’ve gotten all the cold, gray winter days but not any snow. I think I am going to give myself the day to wallow and get my act together for an awesome weekend, including the big 80′s party on Saturday! I’ll be fully cured and out of my funk by Monday. Have a laid back weekend!
For the 80′s party on Saturday, for which I will be dressing up as Punky Brewster, I will be attempting to make a large Pac-Man cake and dot cupcakes. Nothing too fancy but a lot for someone who RARELY bakes. Yellow cake, three layers, covered with yellow icing and the famous wedge cut out for his mouth. Should be as cute as it is delicious!
Last year I resolved to try to live life gracefully. This year I’m choosing a new philosophy and taking a bit of help from Susannah Conway (she says “I’m a work in progress…always) and from the ever poetic Coldplay…
I’d rather be a comma, than a full stop!
I think it’s perfect! Have a perfect and happy weekend!
I absolutely can’t wait to read Susannah Conway’s Polaroid book, Instant Love, set to come out in May. I read her blog daily and have taken her unravelling course and I have been waiting with baited breath for this book. I love her photos, they’re so gorgeous and I’m hoping this book helps me create some of my own gorgeous memories!
In the meantime I use instagram and am absolutely in love with this picture of Georgia!
I saw this super quick and apparently easy hair style on Refinery29 just before New Years Eve and when I tried it I failed miserably — this is usually the case as I am completely hair illiterate. But the other day when I was feel sloppy and tired just before work I decided to pair my super simple white button down and jeans with this hair and I can’t tell you how many compliments I got! It was awesome. If I can do it anyone can!
I found Three Potato Four just a little while back and lust over it every single time I go to their site or see any of their awesome pieces on pinterest. My newest obsession is this gray military blanket. I just want to curl up in my big chair on a rainy day with this snuggled around me. Warm and chic, what more could you ask for!?
I really like baking. This may sound surprising because I rarely use my kitchen, but there’s something about the fun work that goes into baking and the sweet reward that comes out that makes it all worth it. I really want to go and get some new baking essentials this weekend and make something. I’m thinking cupcakes, it’s almost my birthday so it seems fitting! Have a sweet weekend!
